Is the Indian Television News Industry going yellow Exclamation We saw the way news channels went hoolahoo over Nisha putting her foot down on Dowry demands on her wedding.

Nisha did a very brave thing and an example no doubt for others but there are thousands of women who suffer and fight back at the same time and are not given the lime light...what about them? Over that Nisha, her ex boyfriend, family members were taken to television studios and were kind of prompted to discuss family dispute on screen in front of millions of viewers.

Recently another national news broadcaster invited Guria, her family members, ex family members and even village heads for a live debate on their national news channel…reason.. Guria is facing a trauma over her ex husband's return whom she though to be dead and married another gentleman and now has a baby and her ex husband wants her back. The anchor tried to play the mediator and tried to settle the dispute. Is this television news journalism? Or should we say it’s a way to capitalize on others desperate situation for raising the TRP?

So is it the start of TV News following the path of Yellow Journalism?

What do you think about this new trend in Indian Television News? Feel free to debate and discuss this issue. Frankly speaking I believe as we are part of the media community it’s up to us the media enthusiasts only to point out where we are going wrong. Sad

Florescent Yellow will be a better word to describe that. Recently I saw one news channel going gaga over their camera playing the role of peeping tom in someone’s bedroom, how brighter more the color yellow can become regarding some news channels I am just wondering!!

Well I initially took a “no comments stance” regarding your post but the brighter the color becomes the more criticism it should face I felt -- that’s my point of view….personal obviously!
Shocked

I saw another incident Laughing This time a TV News Channel broadcast a Marriage Video of a infamous gangster’s sisters wedding for solid 2 hours without any commercial break Laughing Laughing and that video was over 10 years old that too (They even ran a exclusive band underneath it!)

Ok guys! Next time you want to make it REAL BIG in the small screen Idea just turn to the other side of the law, record your sister’s wedding and don’t forget to send it to some News Channels Idea 2 Hrs coverage is guaranteed! Cheers! Twisted Evil

One more thought! If YOU are the gangster and if it is YOUR WEDDING VIDEO that you will you send - then Do Not Forget to make it At Least 5 Hours Long Arrow Prime Time Exposure Guaranteed!

(Insider speculation is they all went for a new year bash and forgot to take the Marriage Video CD out of the CD Player) shhhh….

Happy New Year Wink
