AmyNelson writes "Plans are already being made for this years Autistic Pride Day on June 18th. If you are a member of the autism community, or autism parents community, you might already be making your own plans for Autistic Pride Day.
February 27, 2006 (XTVWorld.Com) -- This years theme is "Celebrate Neurodiversity". Autistic Pride Day is held on June 18th each year and is a celebration of the unique qualities of children and adults with autism and asperger''s, and their families.
Autism is a lifelong condition that is present from birth. It affects social skills and communication. One day a year the community celebrates the differences that autism brings, whether that is a savant skill such
as mathematics, art, computer skills, or just a special, unique child that needs love.
Events that have been planned for this year so far include numerous events as science museums around the world. These gatherings will give families and adults with autism a chance to meet up, and celebrate together.
Many people with autism have a greater interest in aspects of science, in favour of sports or team oriented activities.
The official website for Autistic Pride Day is http://www.autisticprideday.com
and that carries details of events planned already for this year.
Any additional events will be added, it''s expected that many more will be arranged before the day.
If you know a child with autism, make sure they get the opportunity to celebrate too and have a fun day this June 18th.
