Broadata Communications Inc. has been named by Crestron Inc. as an approved source for the transmission of Crestron's "Cresnet((tm))" control signaling over fiber optic cabling. As a result, Crestron has named BCI an "Official Crestron Integration Partner."
Torrance, CA, USA, September 21, 2005 -- After
extensive, in-house lab testing at Crestron, and field testing for over 2 years
in a hotel and convention center environment, BCIâs 288 Series and the
Concierge(tm) Fiberstation(tm) have been approved as products that seamlessly
and accurately transport âCresnet(tm)â signals over fiber.
Don Hosmer, National Sales Manager for BCI, said, âBroadata Communications is
proud to become an Official Integration Partner with Crestron. Now, Crestronâs
customersâ have a number of choices for reliable, quality products that can
extend âCresnet(tm)â signals long distances over fiber.â
âMany of our installations in the university and corporate environment
require systems to communicate over long distance.â Says Chris Wildfoerster,
director, market development for Crestron, âBroadata provides reliable fiber
solutions for those applications.â
BCI âs two models, the 288 and Concierge(tm) Fiberstation(tm) include other
audio/video/data transmission functionality in addition to the âCresnet(tm)â
signal transport capabilities, and are available in both Multimode and
Singlemode fiber, as well as âone fiberâ solutions. Typical applications for the
2 products include allowing the installation of a Crestron touch screen panel at
a very far distance from the controller unit. This also allows for
centralization of multiple controllers in a single equipment rack and the
sending of âCresnet(tm)â signals far beyond the capabilities of copper wiring.
The 288 series model transports RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485, including the âCresnet(tm)â
data format, along with 2 channels of bi-directional Mic level, Line level or
Phantom Power analog audio. The Concierge(tm) Fiberstation(tm) is a miniature,
audio/video/data, fiber optic transport platform, designed to install into
industry standard floor and wall boxes. It is perfect for audio/video/data
communications in hotels, convention centers, theaters, theme parks, and
performing art centers. All models are available in standalone or card cage
versions. Custom configurations, including âCresnet(tm)â data only models, and
OEM versions are also available.
