The Hottest Street Dancers Enter Newest 'Reality' Hip Hop Dance Battle

The popular movie, ‘You Got Served’ drew millions of hip-hop dance fans to witness street dancers battle in choreographed dance moves for the cash prize. WRECK DA FLOOR discourages contestants from using prepared choreographed routines, completed after weeks of practice, but encouraged to display natural, unrehearsed raw talent. “Most audiences prefer to watch dancers battle one-on-one, not in groups. WDF is freestyle at its finest,” says Seth Lockhart, an emerging producer and creator of the show. “It’s more fun and intensive. Look at boxing, wrestling, tennis, and fencing.” Dancers face off in a boxing ring, complete with rounds, bells, an Announcer, Ring Girl, Referee, and DJ.
WANTED: Freestyle dancers ages 18 and over that display versatility as well as virtuosity and dance to an array of music, ranging from Hip-Hop to R&B to House, Dancehall, and Break Beats. The audience decides 50% of Contestants’ fate while celebrity guest judges determine the other 50%, using Originality, Skills, and Presentation as measuring sticks.

Selected contestants must submit clean bill of health from medical doctor, allowing them to compete on the show. Several popular clothing companies including Von Dutch will sponsor those chosen, to compete in their clothing. Popular clothing line, ENYCE, realized the cross-promotional value and signed on as the first sponsor in 2003. Producers will choose four contestants from each city to compete in the main event scheduled for taping in July.
