UK, May 30, 2007 (XTVWorld.Com) -- Quantum Corp. (NYSE:DSS), a global leader in storage, has named Steve Mackey as its new UK area sales director. Mackey, former director of product marketing, EMEA at Quantum, will focus on driving Quantum as the recognised leader in the fast growing backup, recovery and archive segment of the storage market. This will echo the company's evolution since its acquisition of ADIC and focus on developing a strong base of channel partners whilst maintaining
regular contact with its end-users. The move comes at the same time as the promotions of Mike Shrimpton to district sales manager, previously regional sales manager, Nigel Houghton to Channel Manager and Scott Bowler to regional sales manager, previously territory development manager.
Kevin Honeycutt, EMEA VP of Quantum said: "In working closely with Steve I have been extremely impressed with his overall leadership and, in particular, what he has achieved from a product marketing standpoint. Steve's
ten years of experience within Quantum will be invaluable as we drive to build on our significant growth and market share gains in storage systems. Steve joined Quantum (formally ADIC) in 1997 as regional sales manager for enterprise tape automation systems. Prior to joining Quantum, Steve has worked for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), IBM and Mars Electronics.
