Ericsson has delivered its EDA VDSL2 solution to Finnish regional telephone company PHP (Paijat-Hameen Puhelin). The deal, under which the system will become operational in March 2007, will enable PHP to offer its broadband customers triple-play services combining IPTV with voice and data in a versatile package.
Stockholm, Sweden, March 5, 2007 -- Arto Kaikkonen, Managing Director of PHP, says: "We build our broadband services based on customer needs. Based on Ethernet architecture, Ericsson's EDA VDSL2 (Very-high-bit-rate DSL) is a new-generation broadband solution that provides
access speeds of up to 100Mbps over existing copper networks. This simplifies network structures and, in addition to unparalleled broadband speeds, also means enhanced cost-efficiency for operators.

Ericsson EDA is the most widely deployed IP-DSLAM solution in the world and is part of Ericsson's Full Service Broadband offering.
