Eblana Photonics announces new pricing initiative for its single-mode, isolator-free 1310 nm DM Lasers.

Dublin, Ireland, March 2, 2006 (XTVWorld.Com) -- Eblana Photonics Ltd, a leading manufacturer of PON oriented single wavelength laser components, today announced a further pricing initiative for its EP1310 DM laser series, setting the base price of a high-performance, 1310nm DFB laser replacement laser diode at only $9.95. This pricing will apply to sustained high volume orders of TO56 based product versions, thus addressing the deployment needs of growing Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) GEPON PX20 and GPON markets. Eblana's single mode DM lasers incorporate its unique NFI (nullified feedback influence) technology. NFI provides for superb RIN15OMA noise performance which is in excess of the IEEE 802.3 ah standard requirements without the need for an optical isolator.

Eblana has been shipping the isolator free laser diodes to customers since it first announced the breakthrough EP1310 DM series lasers at OFC2005 and is now reducing prices as volumes scale. Daniel Tine, Eblana's Head of North American Business Development and Sales stated, "In addition to the NFI feature of our products, customers are delighted at the superior consistency of our DM laser characteristics such as threshold current and device operating current in comparison to conventional DFB lasers and are another result of this great technology".
