Australia, June 19, 2005 -- “Podcasting is emerging as
a powerful corporate communication technology,” said company co-founder, Cameron
Reilly. “As of today, companies can participate in the new wave by having custom
podcasts produced specifically for their market by some of the most experienced
podcasters in the world. Previously they had to either buy advertising on
existing shows or try to make their own. Now they can ‘rent a podcaster’”,
Reilly said.
While some companies have attempted to produce their own podcasts, Reilly said
that the successful application of the medium for corporate communications
required an understanding of how to create intimate conversations with a market.
“As the Cluetrain guys said, markets are conversations,” he said. “Podcasting is
another step towards helping companies have those conversations with niche
audiences on a global level. However, this isn’t radio and it would be a mistake
to think it is as easy as it looks. There will be many blunders as companies try
to apply the medium to their needs and we have the experience to avoid such
mistakes.”
Mr Reilly said The Podcast Network also had a growing team of hosts with domain
expertise in a wide variety of subjects.
He said many hosts were available for hire if specific experience in a
particular industry was required.
