Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE:TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that Broadcast Engineering Magazine has awarded the company with the National Association of Broadcasters Conference 2004 (NAB 2004) Pick Hit Award for the Tektronix WFMNLE, a software Waveform Monitor for Avid Non-Linear Editing systems. The award was presented on Thursday, April 22, 2004 in recognition of innovative technology developed and shown at NAB in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Friday, May 28, 2004  (Business Wire India)--According to Broadcast Engineering Magazine, the Pick Hit awards are the industry's longest-running new product technology awards, having been given for more than 20 years, and have become the most coveted and distinguished awards at NAB. Eligible products must be new and not shown at a previous NAB convention, have a positive impact on the intended users' everyday work and offer substantial improvement over previous technology. The anonymous judges are readers of Broadcast Engineering Magazine and working professionals in the broadcast, post and network, and satellite industries.

“This award is significant, because it recognizes the way Tektronix listens to customers to understand their needs and develop products that meet their requirements,” said Todd Biddle, Vice President, Video Product Line, Tektronix. “The WFMNLE gives access to key features found on our hardware waveform monitors but in the AVID software environment. This integrated solution will enhance AVID users' workflow and productivity.”

About the WFMNLE
WFMNLE is the only software-based waveform monitor that provides a “quick-at-a glance” status alarm screen, picture screen with gamut error bright-ups, and error logging. For more in-depth monitoring, the WFMNLE has traditional waveform/vector displays that are comparable to what is found on hardware waveform monitors. It monitors content in the RECORD window of the NLE with displays that include waveform, parade (YCbCr and RGB), field, Y-only, vector, and the ability for the user to select 1-line, all-lines, or variable number of lines (consecutive) for the waveform, vector, gamut and picture displays.

A user-friendly interface includes user selectable dual side-by-side views, placement anywhere within the NLE application or outside the application on the desktop, user-adjustable threshold settings, and a host of other features. Tektronix' WFMNLE also contains a very simple video waveform monitoring tutorial to assist users who may not be familiar with video monitoring practices.

The WFMNLE is available for purchase and can be downloaded at: http://www.tektronix.com/wfmnle. A time-limited demonstration of the WFMNLE can also be downloaded at the site.
