The series, a first of its kind on a news channel, will feature an array of cutting edge and path-breaking do*****entaries that explore contemporary issues. 'Do*****entary 24x7', starting on October 18, will be aired every Thursday at 9.30 pm with a repeat telecast every Sunday at 1:30 pm.

Do*****entary 24x7 will provide a platform for do*****entary films that have had a restricted audience in India. The series will move beyond the realm of headlines and breaking news to create a dialogue on broader and more enduring concerns.

The series will air do*****entary films that reflect a wide range of subject, style, content and form. Some of the chosen films include Sonali Gulati's 'Nalini by Day, Nancy by Night' based on the BPO industry from an American immigrant's perspective; Safina Uberoi's 'Brides of Khan', which portrays Sydney-based photographer Alan Khan, famous for his wedding photographs of Indian, Greek, Lebanese and Chinese immigrants in Australia; 'Many Faces of Madness' by Amar Kanwar focusing on the wide-scale ecological devastation in India and 'Where's Sandra' by Paromita Vohra which delves into Christian stereotypes.

Catch 'Many Faces of Madness' on October 18 at 9.30 PM on NDTV 24x7

Many Faces of Madness is a short film that emerges from the reality of ecological destruction in India today. The film brings people face to face with the intensity and impact of globalization and industrialization and passionately pleads for wisdom while facing these challenges. The film travels through images from different parts of India, revealing glimpses of traditional water harvesting systems, mining and chemical pollution, community forest protection, displacement, deforestation, bio-piracy and coastal ecosystems.

About the Director:
Amar Kanwar, a postgraduate in Mass Communication, Film and Television from Jamia Millia Islamia, has been working as an independent filmmaker for more than a decade. He has directed over forty do*****entaries during this period and has consistently worked on issues of health, ecology, philosophy, labour, law, politics, art and education. His films have received many awards and nominations and have been screened in several international do*****entary film festivals like the Mumbai International Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, 36th Antalya International Do*****entary Film Festival and Torino International Environment Film Festival, Italy etc. Has won The Grand Prix award at EnviroFilm, Slovak Republic and The First Prize at Torino International Environment Film Festival, Italy in 2002
